Not 7 Eccles Street

First, happy Bloomsday to all!  May you find your Penelope with a minimum amount of hassle from angry giants and petulant gods along the way.

Meanwhile, big news in my household -- we're moving in two weeks.  We decided to get serious about looking for a new place, and found our dream home the first day.  It's a garden apartment in Westwood, 15 minutes' walk from the Transit Hub of the Gods (two rapid lines, one hyper-rapid, and more local buses than I can count).  This will cut my commute from 90 to around 35 minutes.  And the apartment itself is beautiful, with hardwood floors and nice paint in shades other than Depressing Apartment Off-White.

Stay tuned; we'll have a housewarming party as soon as we get settled in.  Because unlike our current home, which has a living room roughly the size of a Mercury capsule, the new place has room to party.  Woo hoo!

Well, they probably could use some poet-spit polishing. :)

How about as a house warming present, i write some hard-wood floor haiku for ya!:)

less mess and WAY cooler than poet spit polish, i think.:)

I'm picturing a whole Bev Hills fad for poet-spit-polished floors. Poets of the desired sort -- Beat, acclaimed, romantic, laureate, employed -- would be referred by agencies to drool on the exquisite parquet floors of mansions and chateaux. Then specially trained squads of Latvian midgets would buff the floors to a warm, glowing shine.

As a gift for my new home?

Employed poets? Do those even exist?

I was speaking hypothetically.

Awesome-rockity-sauce. (Rockety sauce?) [info]gridlore and I are starting to brainstorm a new place (Top three items, in order: first floor; grounded outlets everywhere; dishwasher), so I know just how this must have felt.

I am sorry I never got to see the Canyon while you lived there, though.

We have all three of your checklist items covered; first floor will be especially nice after years of living at the top of the Stairs of Doom, bane of deliverymen.

I'm sorry you missed the Canyon, too...but it's just been a really crappy interval for playing host, for way too many reasons. That seems to be changing now. Knock wood.

Whoo hoo and congratulations!

(1) Besides Women's Dorm/Women's Prison (2) Buttercup Yellow (goes great over cinderblock...my dorm had it:/)
(2) There were no kinky wardenesses or shanking people or cigarettes--we just had nuns and RAs.

Dude, that's like telling [info]z111 you'll bring Akvavit. Consider it a done deal. :)

I knew I could get you with absinthe. Brilliant minds... :)

It would be groovy. :)

[info]krishnahermes: that sounds sweet

Its always better to have the shorter commute, an extra hour a day turns out to be a pretty sweet chunk of time.

Plus being in Westwood means better air quality than the Canyon. I just imagine what its like to get even a microscopically minute amount of David Crosby's second hand smoke!
